1 June 2010 – CETCO is proud to announce the hiring of Steve Skinner to the position of Technical Service Manager, Green Roofs. Steve joins CETCO with over 7 years experience as a green roof product manager and horticultural specialist.
Steve entered the green roof industry in 2003 after a 20-year career as a soil scientist and environmental consultant concentrating on issues of sustainable development in the U.S. and throughout the world. His work has included planning and implementation of environmental management systems to minimize development impacts on local flora and fauna, waste minimization and disposal, storm water impacts associated with land development, safety and emergency response systems and adherence to local environmental regulations.
Steve’s experience with sustainable development issues has given him an awareness of the benefits and challenges of the emerging green roof industry in the U.S. and he has met those challenges to become a recognized industry leader. CETCO’s leadership in the waterproofing and roofing industry as well as its demonstrated commitment to the environment has led Steve to assuming his current position with CETCO.
Steve has promoted the green roof industry with participation in the ASTM Committee on Green Roof Standards, the U.S. Green Building Council, Green Roofs for Healthy Cities, American Society of Landscape Architects, the International Green Roof Association and the Earth Pledge Foundation. He has also offered his support for green roof research at the Center for Green Technology, Penn State University, and other public and private institutions.
