Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada – Checkmate Geosynthetics Ltd., a worldwide manufacturer and supplier of geosynthetic soil reinforcement and stabilization solutions, today announced it has appointed Jim Penman as the company’s Vice President of Sales USA. In his new role, Penman will be responsible for Checkmate’s full-range of geosynthetic system products within the US market.
Penman began his career in geosynthetics seventeen years ago when he joined one of the world’s leading geogrid manufacturers. During the intervening years he has occupied a range of positions in design/technology, sales and marketing. Although he readily acknowledges that his first love is sales, Penman is also regarded as one of the industry’s leading experts in the application of geogrid technology. He continues to serve as a geosynthetics expert for the American Railroad Engineering and Maintenance-of Way Association (AREMA) and has presented regularly at several major international conferences.
