14 November 2011 – Christopher Hardin, P.E. joins Haley & Aldrich as a Senior Geotechnical/Environmental Engineer and Ash Management and Coal Combustion Practice Leader. Mr. Hardin will lead the company’s ash management / coal combustion practice for utility and energy clients. He is a sought-after national expert in coal ash storage and ash containment closure design with technical, business management and international experience in solid waste design, soil, sediment and groundwater remediation and design/build projects.
His 20-plus years of experience includes constructability reviews, landfill design, innovative re-use of coal combustion byproduct, dredged containment facility management, sediment remediation, landfill liner system CQA, subsurface investigations, shallow foundation design, groundwater treatment system design, and geo-synthetic applications.
Mr. Hardin has extensive experience in landfill design and permitting, construction quality assurance and environmental remediation. His project activities have included work with landfill operations optimization, leachate handling and treatment, geosynthetic design and forensic evaluations, saturated sediment remediation, dredge facility management, and large-scale soil and groundwater remediation.
Mr. Hardin earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Maryland. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the states of Georgia, Indiana, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. Mr. Hardin’s professional affiliations include the American Coal Ash Association, the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA), and the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).
