29 July 2008 – Last September, Solmax International announced that it had received (on 17 August 2007) the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) certification. The aim of this program, which was created by U.S. Customs Border Protection, is to enhance freight security and strengthen the global supply chain.
In June 2008, Solmax International was audited by the American organization to validate the various security measures implemented within the Solmax organization. The results of the evaluation proved highly positive and the company’s certification was renewed.
In addition, Solmax’s application was recommended for C-TPAT’s important Tier 2.
In concrete terms, achieving Tier 2 certification would mean that Solmax’s shipments would have a 50% less chance of being stopped for inspection at the US border–that is, delivery expediency is improved. Furthermore, in the event of a crisis in the US that caused the borders to close, trucks from C-TPAT-certified companies would still be allowed to cross into the United States.
As an exporting company, this is a significant benefit with a direct impact on all its clients.
Solmax International’s involvement with the C-TPAT program is consistent with the company’s efforts to improve and honor delivery lead times so as to supply its clients in keeping with their expectations.
