The US Army Corps of Engineers is working with the Port of Portland to dredge Mount St. Helens debris from the Cowlitz River for the first time in 18 years. The first phase of the project gets underway soon with containment berms to be constructed. Phase II has yet to be bid out by the Corps but is expected to begin in November.
