The United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is advancing on the installation of geotextile tubes along the battered dunes of Grand Isle, Louisiana. The small island, which is focused primarily on recreation and hospitality, was damaged during 2008’s hurricane season. USACE is performing 5 miles of restoration work with geotextile tubes and a sand cap through August.
