American Environmental Group Ltd. – Operations & Maintenance Division is seeking qualified candidates who can confidently lead a construction team, serve as a key contact for Regional clients and AEGL Region office, execute key business strategies, and drive a profitable area.
We are seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of: Operations & Maintenance Construction Manager – Midwest Region. Preferred Location: Wisconsin (Madison Area).
The primary duties an O&M Construction Supervisor (CS) include:
- Supervise and perform operation, maintenance, and construction associated with landfill gas (LFG) and leachate collection systems
- Complete and manage the scope, schedule, and budget of all assigned projects
- Acquire and coordinate delivery of materials, equipment, supplies, and labor for all assigned projects
- Ensure that all crew members are performing construction activities in a safe and proper manner
- Perform maintenance on system components to ensure or restore proper operation and compliance
- Work with and around heavy construction equipment and excavations on landfills
- Manage all equipment and supplies
- Perform general administrative duties and complete project related paperwork
- Train, motivate, and mentor junior employees
- Assist the efforts of the Project, Regional, and General Managers
- Manage projects and resources to effectively meet and/or exceed company margin goals
- Assist on proposal and cost estimate preparation – perform proposal and cost estimate reviews

- Provide response to system failures and call-out devices 24-hours per day, 7 days per week
- Travel for extended periods, if necessary. A CS may travel 50 to 80 percent of the time; however, this estimate will change based on client and project requirements
- Walk long distances, up and down steeply sloped landfills and outdoor terrain
- Work safely in extreme (hot and cold) weather conditions
- Lift a minimum of 50 pounds on a non-consistent basis
- Provide experienced, safe, and efficient operation of heavy construction equipment
- Pass a company paid, baseline health physical and drug screening
- Complete the USEPA HAZWOPR, 40-hour, environmental health and safety class, and annual 8-hour refresher classes
- Ability to obtain, and keep in good standing, a valid driver’s license
- Available to work overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays, if necessary

- A CS will likely possess at a minimum, a High School Diploma and 5+ years of directly related experience, or an A.S. Degree in an engineering, construction technology, or science based program and 3 years of directly related experience
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and system failures
- Expert level working knowledge of grade / survey equipment, construction / heavy equipment operation, construction drawings, and other typical construction equipment and technologies
- Proficient with HDPE pipe fusion techniques.
