At the RemTech 2013 press conference, it was revealed that Italy’s Environment Minister Andrea Orlando will open this international event, which focuses on environmental remediation and site redevelopment. It will be held 18-20 September 2013 in Ferrara, Italy

The seventh edition of RemTech Expo 2013 (www.remtechexpo.com), the most prestigious event in Italy on the remediation and redevelopment of contaminated sites , will be inaugurated by the Minister for the Environment , Land and Sea—Andrea Orlando—who will speak at the opening event chaired by Giovanni Beretta and Daniele Cazzuffi  on the subject of “Sustainability , innovative technologies and economic impacts.”
RemTech Expo, which is organized by Ferrara Fiere Congressi in collaboration with the Emilia-Romagna region, will be held 18 – 20 September 2013 in the halls of the Exhibition Centre of Ferrara.
The press conference on the exhibition was held on Friday, September 13, in Milan at the Lombardy Region Environment Department. Project manager Silvia Paparella pointed out that RemTech is:

“…a very specialized event that produces directly-applicable solutions and strengthens business profiles in the international marketplace. We must acknowledge and thank the Chamber of Commerce of Ferrara for its fundamental support, the 170 participating companies, more than 60 people who have contributed their time to creating the high-profile technical and scientific conference sessions and training events. The special events within the event, such as Coast Expo and Inertia, exemplify excellence in these sectors in Italy. Ten groups of international buyers will meet the exhibitors and seven awards will be issued to recognize the best contributors in the field of land reclamation. The issues that face RemTech are those of technological innovation , economic, and health impacts of land reclamation; sustainability; earth and rock excavation; and more. Among the highlights for 2013 is the first RemTech Training School on innovative technologies for the characterization and remediation of contaminated sites, a focus on nuclear decommissioning, and the relationship between public administration and reclamation plans, in addition to the Project of Internationalization promoted in collaboration with the Region of Emilia-Romagna. “

RemTech 2013
RemTech events are strongly supported and produce an excellent range of technology transfer.

Also at the press conference, Nicola Zanardi, president of Ferrara Fiere Congressi, noted that “RemTech is evidence that problems such as site contamination can also provide opportunities. For seven years, each addition of this conference has strengthened cooperation, networking, and the exchange of knowledge, skills and best practices in a constructive, increasingly international dialogue, thanks also to the remarkable efforts done by the Scientific and Advisory Committees chaired by Daniele Cazzuffi. ”
The opening day of RemTech will explore “The management of waste produced by the earthquake in Emilia-Romagna: reuse of rubble, problems and prospects.” The meeting was organized by ANPAR (National Association of Manufacturers of Recycled Aggregates) and Emilia-Romagna Region in the context of Inertia (a special section of RemTech dedicated to inert waste to natural, recycled and artificial aggregates). Speakers will include: Paola Gazzolo, Minister for Homeland Security, Soil and Coast Defense, Civil Protection – Emilia-Romagna Region; Scarlett Zadro, Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Ferrara; and Fabrizio Toselli, Mayor of the City of St. Augustine. The conference will examine and investigate the opportunity to use the rubble produced by the earthquake, turning them into materials used in the construction industry, such as for building roads, public squares, bike paths, etc.
