Congratulations are due to Geofabrics, which has earned a 2018 AusTrade Australian Export Award for Environmental Solutions. The company, which manufacturers geosynthetics and provides supply and design support for a wide-range of applications, was officially recognized at a ceremony in Canberra on 27 November 2018.
The Australian Export Awards (AEA) is a national program that recognizes Australian businesses for their export achievements and contribution to Australia’s economic prosperity.
In a video message posted to the company’s YouTube channel and shared via the company’s feed on LinkedIn, Managing Director Brendan Swifte announced the achievement and thanked the company’s hard-working team for facilitating Geofabrics’ international growth in geosynthetics.
AUSTRALIAN EXPORT AWARD FOR ENVIRONMENTAL SOLUTIONS
The 2018 AusTrade Australian Export Award for Environmental Solutions recognizes outstanding international success in environmental solutions, clean energy innovation, materials and energy efficiency, waste and water management, green buildings, and R&D collaboration. Candidates in the category included Geofabrics, Sentinel Pty Ltd, SRA Information Technology, Phibion Pty Ltd, Blue Ocean Monitoring, Calix, and Biofouling Solutions.
“[All of these companies] offer unique and innovative solutions to a range of environmental challenges including mine tailings management, waste water treatment, marine biofouling, and environmental monitoring,” Geofabrics writes.
The company notes that it secured the award “based upon the positive impact our Australian made ELCOROCK® coastal protection system has had on international coastal protection projects, especially in communities vulnerable to the effects of rising sea levels.”
The Australian Export Award follows a three-year run in which Geofabrics has taken home the Victorian Export Award for Environmental Solutions.
