GRI-24 Conference
Co-located with Geo-Frontiers 2011 is the Geosynthetic Research Institute’s (GRI) 24th conference. The GRI is the research arm of the Geosynthetic Institute (GSI). Its conferences have been theme-oriented since their inception. The forthcoming, day-long gathering uses the theme of “Enhancing Sustainability Using Geosynthetics.” Topics were selected by the membership and generally followed application areas that were established and in need of further investigation, or were emerging to the point where information was considered timely. This conference is somewhat different in that it encompasses all types of geosynthetics and all types of applications, each of which is viewed from the context of sustainability. In so doing, many of the papers contrast traditional solutions to geosynthetic solutions from both cost and carbon footprint perspectives.
GRI-24 will feature two half-day sessions (Transportation/Geotechnical Related and Environmental/Hydraulic Related) and 20 presentations overall.
