HUESKER greenroofs and gecomposites webinar, March 2On March 4, HUESKER will host a free greenroofs and geocomposites webinar. The core focus will be on the use of Ultimat® TGS geocomposites and how these geosynthetic materials help plant roots sustain water and help buildings achieve significant LEED-related credits. The webinar will take place 2:00 – 2:30 pm (EST) and will be led by Roy McClinton, an engineer with more than 25 years experience.

Ultimat® TGS is comprised of a 100% post-consumer recycled polyester nonwoven layer which is mechanically bonded to a synthetic, water absorbing mat. The structure holds  10 – 12% of its weight in water, is inert to biological degredation, and resistant to natural chemicals, alkalies, and acids.
According to the company, green roof systems using this geocomposite may contribute as many as 15 credits to LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environment Design) green building certification.
The webinar will note ways in which financial value is added to buildings, such as through extending roof system lives, reducing energy costs, and enhancing property values.
