In St. Lawrence County, New York, five bridges have been constructed in the past year with geosynthetic reinforced soil (GRS) bridge abutments. Now, the federal government is sending a film crew to the area to document the next GRS construction. The speed of construction and performance strength found in these designs is grabbing attention and may soon find much larger acceptance throughtout the country. The film will be shown at upcoming transportation design sessions in New York, Massachusetts, and Atlanta.
