INTERNATIONAL INVOLVEMENT
GSI_Korea_Temple_450wThe event, like GSI, is truly international. The region is enjoying exceptional infrastructure investment and growth with water resources, waste management, remediation, and transportation. Practitioners in Asia are contributing many of the most highly published geotechnical research today. (See the authors lists and affiliations in IGS Journals such as Geosynthetics International and Geotextiles & Geomembranes, for example.) And GSI now has three affiliates in Asia (Taiwan, Korea, India).
Further, the GSI Asia 2015 Scientific Committee includes support from around the world (13 countries, including the USA, Canada, France, Italy, and Germany).
In his letter of invitation on the conference’s website, Dr. Jeon highlights the geo-environmental and geotechnical interaction that GSI Asia 2015 will provide, as well as a global view of R&D and the future of geosynthetics in infrastructure.
