HUESKER Brazil Opens New Geosynthetics Headquarters HUESKER Brazil Opens New Geosynthetics HeadquartersInternational geosynthetics manufacturer and engineering services provider HUESKER Group has had a lot to celebrate. In recent years, the historical German headquarters marked the company’s 150th anniversary. This year, the United States-based HUESKER North America & Central America headquarters celebrated its 25th anniversary and tripled the size of its manufacturing and warehousing space in North Carolina. Now, HUESKER Brazil, which serves the ever-growing South American market, has moved into a new geosynthetics headquarters and production center.
The doors of the new facility were officially opened in late August, in the presence of officials and representatives of the Brazilian company and its international partners. Dr. Hans Grandin, President of the HUESKER Group (based in Germany), was present at the inauguration. Together with HUESKER Brazil CEO Flavio Montez, the symbolic ribbon cutting brought the new space online.
“I would like to congratulate the entire HUESKER Brazil team, ” said Grandin. “In a time of economic uncertainty in Brazil, this is a counter-cyclical move. It is a bold and optimistic investment, and I believe firmly that our operation here is in good, strong hands. ”

GEOSYNTHETICS HEADQUARTERS, GEOTEXTILE TUBE PRODUCTION CENTER

HUESKER Brazil was founded in 1998 in São José dos Campos (SP).  The new geosynthetics headquarters is sited in a 9,000 m2 facility, strategically located along the President Dutra Highway. The area is characterized by considerable redevelopment, industrial activity, and strong transit options. HUESKER’s site includes a modernized design, in architecture and functional space, which the company says is a reflection of its organizational culture of innovation, excellence, progressiveness, and reliability.
The production area’s expansion is one of the highlights of the new headquarters. The number of employees on site has roughly doubled, to handle the new capacity. Of particular note, the facility has dramatically increased the Brazilian subsidiary’s production capacity for SoilTain® geotextiles tubes. The company will now be able to manufacture on a level consistent to the South American demand for dewatering solutions in mining, port development, remediation, and other critical sectors of infrastructure and industry.
“We are investing in a time when other companies are divesting,” said Flavio Montez. “This demonstrates the confidence of the HUESKER Group in this team and in the future of Brazil as a market and production center. The new headquarters and the expansion of production certainly bring us many joys.”
