6 July 2010 – The IGS Award Committee presented HUESKER Synthetic GmbH with the 2010 IGS Award at a special ceremony on 26 May 2010 during the 9th International Conference on Geosynthetics (9ICG) in Guaruja, Brazil.
The IGS Committee voted unanimously to present the award to HUESKER; the citation recognizes HUESKER for its continued commitment to the development and production of geosynthetic products, often using innovative polymers.
For more than 40 years HUESKER has manufactured geosynthetic products for the construction industry as well as technical textiles for agricultural and industrial applications. This has resulted in a diverse range of solutions and associated products often developed in close collaboration with clients, consultants, contractors and independent institutes. The properties, applications and performance of these innovative geosynthetics have been presented in high-quality papers during recent decades.
These geosynthetics can be expertly customized to specific site requirements and technical specifications, with numerous practical applications within the civil engineering sector; primarily in the area of soil reinforcement.
Complex engineering projects often demand tailor made products. With HUESKER’s unquestioned technical expertise and their available range of polymers it is possible to meet detailed project specifications criteria including strength, PH resistance, bespoke lengths and low strain materials.
HUESKER GmbH is honoured to receive this IGS Award and views it as an endorsement of its historic contribution to geosynthetics as well as an obligation to continue to lead the industry in developing more sustainable and cost effective solutions in the future.
