IECA Logo9 July 2009 – The International Erosion Control Association (IECA) has moved the dates for its Environmental Connection 2010 (EC10) conference. The conference will now begin on 16 February 2010 and continue through 20 February 2010. The commencement of conference activities is two days later than originally planned due to the NBA All-Star Game which will be held in Dallas during the original dates of the conference.

IECA Executive Director Russ Adsit, FASLA, made these comments on the date change: “With the economic conditions many of our members and supporters find themselves in this year, we have made this change to contain costs for IECA as well as our members who have faithfully attended our conferences for so many years. The Hilton Anatole Hotel has worked with us on issues resulting from the overlap of dates with the NBA. The change will allow more of our members to afford attendance. We also are instituting additional changes to keep the total cost of attendance as reasonable as possible to enable as many members as possible to come to this career-building event.”

EC10’s most anticipated event, its Expo Hall, will now open the evening of 17 February 2010, and run through the afternoon of 19 February 2010. IECA has planned several new activities as well as a new course structure that will be introduced to the general public later this year.

Additional details, including registration information and hotel accommodations, will be available late summer 2009.
