IECA Education2 April 2010 – The International Erosion Control Association (IECA) has recently completed work for the world’s largest retailer, Walmart, on an online version of its stormwater training program. The project was an 8-month endeavor resulting in the creation of 7 training modules, with more than 6 hours of online content. IECA utilized 5 of its members to help write the content and several additional members also edited and reviewed content. All video content development was done by TJ Cannamela of StormPro Max, Inc.

The modules were written for, and in collaboration with, Walmart and are intended to train Walmart’s general contractors and internal design and construction associates by outlining the details of stormwater compliance and management. The material included in the modules covers regulatory requirements, program management details, Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) compliance and Best Management Practice (BMP) implementation and maintenance.

This collaborative project represents a major contribution by IECA and Walmart to the development and construction industry. The content was written to the highest possible standard to meet the requirements of Walmart.
