Denver, Colo. – The International Erosion Control Association (IECA) Region One has launched its Mentorship Program as a new membership benefit. The IECA Mentorship Program is a way for established members and students or new members to connect with one another and form partnerships of mutual learning as mentors and mentees.
Russ Adsit, FASLA, IECA’s Executive Director, had this to say of the recent addition: “We’re thrilled to provide a venue for IECA members of all skill levels to find one another as mentors and mentees. This new program facilitates opportunities for members to learn from one another and hopefully create bonds that will enhance each participants work and understanding of the erosion and sediment control and stormwater industries. In only the first few days of the program, we’ve received an overwhelming response.”
This program intends to provide a database of members, who have volunteered to serve as a mentor, to other members. Members interested in finding a mentor can locate one either in their area or view a potential member’s online record to find one who shares their areas of professional interest. IECA encourages anyone thinking of participating in the program as a mentor to view it as a way to further themselves as well—regardless of how long they’ve been affiliated with IECA.
