After spending 20 years in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, the International Erosion Control Association (IECA) will move its headquarters to Denver, Colo. this summer. The new office is scheduled to open its doors and phone lines on Monday, July 7, 2008. Until then, business continues as usual from the Steamboat office.

Economic factors are the driving force behind the move, according to IECA’s executive director Russell Adsit, FASLA. Rising rents and a lack of rental space options in Steamboat forced Adsit and the IECA Board of Directors to look at other alternatives.

“This is something the Board has been discussing for the past year. In addition to easing some of the overhead costs, it will make the office more accessible to the Board and other IECA members,” said Adsit. “The new office is just minutes away from the Denver International Airport. We encourage IECA members to stop by and say hello when they are in town.” A more formal open house will be scheduled in the fall.
