The Industrial Fabrics Association International’s (IFAI) Expo Asia 2011 will include two technical sessions on geosynthetics. The event will be held 22-25 March 2011 at the new Marina Bay Sands Hotel and Exhibition Centre in Singapore.
Session one is titled “Geosynthetic Applications for Infrastructure” and will address applications such as mechanically-stabilized earth structures, coastal protection and hydraulic engineering, water protection and storage, erosion control and sustainable engineering, and pavement engineering. Specification development and relevant testing discussion will be included, as will case histories and installation construction quality assurance (CQA).
Session two is titled “Geosynthetic Materials for Environmental Applications.” This course will cover water management and protection, erosion and sediment control, and waste containment systems. Detailed information on geosynthetic classes will be addressed, including manufacturing, testing, durability, and design. Specifications and CQA will also be discussed.
In addition to these sessions, geosynthetic industry influence will be found in the exhibit hall. Cooley Group, TenCate Geosynthetics Asia Sdn. Bhd., and China Technical Association on Geosynthetics (CTAG) are all scheduled to exhibit.
Furthermore, ACE Geosynthetics’ Amie Wang is serving on the event’s Advisory Committee.
IFAI Expo Asia 2011 will become the first major event in the region that specifically targets as visitors the end-product fabricators who use all types of materials–woven, nonwoven, knit and composite textiles.
