In a 1 December 2011 release, the Industrial Fabrics Association International announced that it is postponing its IFAI Expo Asia 2012 event, originally scheduled to be held in late June 2012 at the Suntec Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre. However, construction on the Suntec Center may not in fact be completed by June to ensure the full success of the event.

WHY IFAI CANCELED EXPO ASIA

Additionally, the association has cited “continuing softness” in the global economy as another reason for postponing the event. Todd Lindemann, IFAI’s conference management vice president, said, “This decision will allow us to evaluate the date and venue for the event. We expect the second edition of IFAI Expo Asia to be bigger and draw larger attendance, and we are carefully planning for that success.”

UPDATE (2014): NO ADDITIONAL EXPO ASIA EVENTS HAVE BEEN HELD OR SCHEDULED

IFAI Expo Asia 2012 was scheduled to have two key geosynthetics sessions: “Geosynthetics for Waste and Water Containment” and “Geosynthetics for Roads and Bridges.” The 2011 edition of the expo also had two geosynthetics events.
