IGS Prague Workshops on Stabilization and Hydraulics

The International Geosynthetics Society will hold back-to-back workshops 10 – 13 November 2019 in Prague. The events are being organized by the IGS Technical Committee on Stabilization (TC-S) and Technical Committee on Hydraulics (TC-H). Attendees may register for one or both of the workshops.

TC-S WORKSHOP, NOVEMBER 10 – 12

The TC-S Workshop, “The Stabilization Function of Geosynthetics,” will offer a pre-workshop brainstorming session on the afternoon of November 10. This will be followed by two full days of technical lectures and discussion on November 11 and 12. The TC-S registration fee includes lunch and two coffee breaks on each of the two full days of lectures.

IGS Workshops deliver high-level engineering information and include significant discussion time.

    • Half-day TC-S Brainstorming Session (14:00 – 18:00) led by TC-S Workshop Chair Jacek Kawalec. All TC-S registrants encouraged to attend!
  • 11 November 2019 – Full-day TC-S Lectures (8:00 – 17:00)
    • Base Stabilization – Led by Jorge Zornberg
    • Subgrade Stabilization – Led by Pietro Rimoldi
  • 12 November 2019 – Full-day TC-S Lectures (8:00 – 17:00)
    • Stabilization in Railways – Led by Erol Tutumluer
    • Working Platforms – Led by Jacek Kawalec

The one-day TC-H Workshop, “Relationships Between Testing and Design of Geosynthetics for Hydraulic Functions,” will be held November 13. The registration fee includes lunch and two coffee breaks.
