In Australia, the Wagga City Council is defending its $2.85 million budget for a key roundabout’s construction. The Council has cited the need to spend $100,000 every six or seven years on significant rebuilds with conventional techniques; but the use of geosynthetics, such as geogrids, has a design life of approximately 30 years with significantly less maintenance needed in that service life.
