Maccaferri, Inc. seeks a Production Planning & Quality Assurance Manager with experience or aptitude in plant management functions to join its global production team. The position will report to the company’s Williamsport, Maryland manufacturing facility. This individual, in cooperation with other key manufacturing personnel, will be responsible for implementing and managing production planning, quality assurance, and inventory control programs.
Primary Responsibilities and Characteristics
- Self-starting, problem-solving, quick-learning Industrial Manufacturing Professional
- Work closely with manufacturing, supply chain, sales, logistics, and customer service functions
- Demonstrate effective leadership skills
- Drive manufacturing excellence through improvement programs and certification projects such as ISO 9001, 5S, lean manufacturing, and other process and procedural documentation/implementation
- Learn and direct key processes pertaining to the production of wire mesh products including gabions, mattresses, rock fall protection, and related components
- Implementation of inventory control systems for all raw materials and finished goods
- Familiar with ERP software (SAP preferred) and updating manufacturing costs consistent with actual project values
- Involved in day-to-day plant activity
- Understand and adhere to current standards, including government specifications and requirements
- Create and manage production schedule, with ability to identify priorities and respond accordingly
- Support sales and profitability by improving customer experience and responsiveness
- Understand process and automation control equipment (A/B preferred)
- Additional duties assigned as appropriate
Qualifications
- Manufacturing, Engineering, Production, or Business-related degree (Associates+) or commensurate work experience
- Manufacturing/Industrial experience preferred (5+ years)
- Knowledge and ability to implement Lean Manufacturing and Inventory Control Programs
- Strong leadership and motivational skills
- Demonstrate a record of long-term commitment
- Valid driver’s license
