EDMONTON, Alberta – Layfield Environmental Containment is proud to announce the launch of HAZGARD® 635 FR, a fire retardant geomembrane that meets the requirements of CAN/ULC-S668-12 Standard for Liners Used for Secondary Containment of Aboveground Flammable and Combustible Liquid Tanks. This guideline is scheduled to become part of the fire code and tank management guidelines in many jurisdictions in Canada.
HAZGARD® 635 FR replaces our previous HAZGARD® 535 geomembrane and comes with improved fire retardants and UV/AO additives and may be used exposed when appropriate in certain applications and jurisdictions. HAZGARD® 635 FR is designed to be a robust, flexible lining material for the secondary containment of flammable and combustible liquids including; gasolines and alcohol-blended gasolines, diesels and biodiesel-blended diesels, jet fuels, oils, and lubricants.
HAZGARD® 635 FR is resistant to a wide range of chemicals including hydrocarbons, solvents, acids, bases, and salts. HAZGARD® 635 FR is a flexible geomembrane that can be pre-fabricated i.e. factory seamed into large panels and then rolled and folded before delivery to job sites. HAZGARD® 635 FR is manufactured by Layfield in 35 mil (0.89mm) thickness and it is easily identified by its red color.
