The spike in global oil and natural gas prices has had a tremendous impact on manufacturing around the globe. In geosynthetics, it’s rapidly increased the price of the resins that give the products their sought-after properties. Tensar’s president Robert Vevoda has posted a letter announcing a temporary 5% surcharge on biaxial geogrids from the company to offset some of the more than 25% resin price increase they (and other manufacturers) are dealing with.
