ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill., April 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — CETCO International (a gsa underwriter), a wholly owned subsidiary of AMCOL International Corp. , has announced its plans to build a manufacturing facility for its geosynthetic clay liner (GCL) products in Segovia, Spain, approximately 40 miles north of Madrid. The facility will be 100 percent owned by CETCO. According to the Managing Director of CETCO Europe Limited, Vince Forrester, construction of the facility will begin in late June this year, and the plant will be on line in the first quarter 2006. Forrester said, "This facility positions us to capitalize on the opportunities in landfill lining and other environmental and construction markets in Spain, an area we have grown in since our acquisition of Linteco in 2004. |
Locating a plant in Spain should provide CETCO with a solid platform on which to service these markets in coming years. This particular location is especially attractive from a logistics perspective — not only for the Spanish market, but for other important markets in Western Europe and North Africa."
