New Zealand Lining Reservoirs

In New Zealand, the Greater Wellington Water Supply Department has embarked on an ambitious plan to bolster the Stuart Macaskill water storage lakes capacity. The two to three-year project will add at least 13% of supply to the lakes, simply to preventing seepage loss. The old clay-only liners in the lakes will be scraped back and replaced with geosynthetic containment technologies.
