BERNVILLE, Pa. – Pennsylvania State Senator Judy Schwank (D-Berks) visited East Coast Erosion Control‘s Bernville, Pa. headquarters recently to learn about the environmental protection materials produced by the company and the various applications in which they are used. Senator Schwank has been a strong partner for Pennsylvania in balancing environmental protection and business growth. East Coast’s team was honored that the senator was able to add a visit to the plant as part of her 11th Senatorial District work.
“Senator Schwank’s interest in promoting both a healthy environment and business climate are extremely important to us,” says Rick Geissler, East Coast Erosion Control’s President.
Pennsylvania’s extensive natural gas drilling industry in the Marcellus Shale is perhaps the most significant energy deposit in the United States, but protecting the land from blight is just as if not more important than harvesting the area’s multi-generational supply of energy. Pennsylvania has a major agriculture industry, and protecting that industry is dependent upon responsible land stewardship.
“East Coast’s environmental protection products are being used on numerous shale drilling sites,” says John Ravert, Director of Technical Services for East Coast. “We are proud to be a company that’s manufacturing products of benefit to commercial, residential and industrial development everywhere, but there is always something special in being able to produce something so immediately positive for your own community too. The Marcellus Shale is a place we’re glad we are making a difference.”
