In the United Arab Emirates, a polymer park has been established with the goal to produce and export polymeric products, including geomembranes, rather than only petroleum. The same movement is happening in nearby Qatar. The Qatar Petrochemicals Complex is being setup in Doha. Thirty percent of the ownership will be South Korean. One of the main products produced will be geomembranes.
