After two decades of environmental cleanup efforts, San Francisco’s largest swath of undeveloped land is set to become a bustling residential and commercial center. The county Board of Supervisors has approved a project to develop the abandoned, 700-acre Hunters Point Naval Shipyard, a federal Superfund site on the southeast shoreline of the San Francisco Bay.
