Sharan WilsonThe International Erosion Control Association Region One (IECA) has announced its new Executive Director: Sharan Wilson. She succeeds Russ Adsit, who led the association for eight years.
Wilson comes to IECA with an extensive background in leadership, including 20+ years in the telecommunications industry and just under a decade as an executive director in the non-profit  sector.
“I am honored,” Wilson said on joining IECA. “I am coming on board at a great time and am looking forward to all the opportunities that present themselves.”
IECA President Brock Peters cited her record of success in growing non-profit group membership and working with boards. “She is a results‐focused professional,” Peters said, “with extensive experience leading high‐performance teams while effectively managing operating budgets and profits and losses.”
Her work will not be light as she begins her tenure. The association’s annual conference, Environmental Connection, takes place February 16 – 19 in San Antonio, Texas, where she will be officially introduced to the membership. And she will have significant work in directing communicating on and implementation of the IECA’s new five‐year strategic plan.
In a release on the IECA Board of Directors’ selection of Wilson, it was noted that education and membership will be primary points of focus for her work. This will involved considerable interaction with the IECA’s many chapters, helping the overall association grow through careful coordination with and support of chapters and their regional and local-level outreach.
