Solmax Adds Adesokan as Technical ManagerInternational geosynthetics manufacturer Solmax has announced the addition of Doyin Adesokan, B. Eng. MSc. as its new Technical Manager. She brings to the company deep global experience in civil engineering, having held positions in Africa, Europe, and North America.
Adesokan is registered with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan and has previously  worked for TetraTech EBA Canada, SNC Lavalin Canada, Unite Group Plc Nottingham (UK), and Energy and Mineral Resources Ltd (Nigeria).
Solmax notes that Adesokan is “rounding up” her doctorate in engineering through the Department of Civil and Geological Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan. Her research has focused on geotechnics and geosynthetics, including evaluation of short and long-term mechanical properties of tire-derived aggregates (TDA) as a substitute for mineral aggregates in engineering applications.
Headquartered in Montreal, Solmax offers geosynthetic products for separation and/or confinement solution of solids and fluids. These geosynthetics, with a strong focus on geomembranes, are used in landfills, mining, shale gas containment, secondary containment in oil tank farms, coal ash ponds, coal gasification, coal seam gas ponds, low level radioactive waste containment, aquaculture, and other areas of infrastructure.
The company manufactures geosynthetics in Canada and Malaysia and has a piping division based in close proximity to Chile’s major mining region.
