Diane Hitt, General Manager of East Coast Erosion Control, has a lot to smile about these days. The company, based in Bernville, Pennsylvania, has developed steadily in recent years, adding wider product rolls, new products (e.g., the T-RECS turf reinforcement mat), and international exhibition presence. It has also played a strong, beneficial role in environmental protection for Pennsylvania’s busy fracking industry and been recognized for the speed of its business growth.
Now, East Coast Erosion Control can celebrate another award through the recognition coming to Diane Hitt, a 2014 STEP Award Nominee.
The STEP Awards have been established by the not-for-profit Manufacturing Institute to recognize the achievements of women in science, technology, engineering and production as those areas relate to the domestic (US) manufacturing field.
The 2014 STEP Awards will be issued in February 2014 in Washington, D.C.
The Reading Eagle newspaper (Reading, Pennsylvania) published a story on November 5 in its “Business Weekly” about Hitt’s nomination.
