Cumming, Georgia – Strata Systems, Inc.’s sister company Geo Soluções Ltd., recently won a Milton Vargas Award for the article, “StrataSlope,” which was published in the November 2013 issue of Brazilian publication “Foundations & Geotechnical Works.”
The award distinguishes works, projects and professionals who stand out throughout the year in the segment of geotechnical engineering in Brazil. Geo Soluções received the award in the Innovation category, which recognizes achievement in advancement of a job, equipment, technique or development through innovation.
The Milton Vargas Award is granted by a body of 45 professors of the chief engineering universities in Brazil who assess notable projects and individuals in a total of nine categories including: Innovation; Environmental; Foundations; Geosynthetics; Foundation Work; Infrastructure Work; Work for Sustainability; Smart Solution Work; and Professional of the Year.
The award was created in 2011 and is named for renowned top Brazilian civil engineer, Milton Vargas, who was a pioneer in the field of soil mechanics.
