9 February 2011 – StrataWeb™, cellular confinement system, is the latest of soil reinforcement products to be offered by Strata Systems. StrataWeb is a honeycomb, cellular confinement system (geocell) that offers durable soil reinforcement solutions that can reduce fill quantities by up to 50%, saving time, costs and the environment.
The amount of fill needed with StrataWeb can approach half that of conventional techniques. Because of the product’s excellent confinement properties, the soil used to fill the geocells can include graded-base, subbase, granular sands or recycled materials such as recycled asphalt pavement, some of which may be unsuitable in more conventional situations or with conventional stabilization type geogrids. This saves project time, labor needs and overall costs, while reducing the project’s carbon footprint.
