The American Shore and Beach Preservation Association (ASBPA) has issued a position paper towards a clearer use of the word “innovative” in erosion control measures. For beach nourishment, the group would like “innovative” used only for field-proven technologies (supported by independent studies) and “experimental” used for new products that have not been independently analyzed.
